We have only been trying to get pregnant for one month but my intuition told me I was pregnant. I'd been bugging Michael about buying a pregnancy test for a week or so when the idea of buying one without his knowledge popped into my head. I got this great idea that if it was positive that it would be the best Valentine's Day gift and I only had to spend a couple of bucks and hope it was positive (of course). So the day before Valentine's Day I took a trip to Wal-Mart and purchased a test. Michael had to work late that night and one of Genevieve's friends was having a birthday party so I didn't get to go straight home after work. We stayed a little longer at the party than I anticipated and silly me forgot to grab Michael's Valentine's Day cards out of my desk before I left work, so after the party we had to go back to my office. After retrieving the cards we dashed home because I wanted to take the test before he got home from work. Lucky for me, Genevieve fell asleep in the car on the ride home so I was able to come home and immediately take the test. So I peed on the stick and waited for 3 minutes, looked at it and it kinda looked like it was positive but the lines were fairly faint so I wasn't 100% sure it was positive. But according to the instructions it was positive. So I hurried up and signed Michael's Valentine's Day card, I was so excited, there was no way I could wait until the next day. Michael arrived home just a few minutes later and I told him that I had to give him his Valentine's Day gift early. So I gave him the card first which said "I'm keeping my fingers crossed..." and when he looked up I whipped out the test and said "because I'm pregnant!" His jaw hit the floor and the biggest smile came over his face. We were both in just shear disbelief on how quickly it happened but when its right its right.
Like I said the test was a little hard to read so the next day, after eating way too much at Shogun for dinner we went and purchased another test just to be sure. And sure enough this one was very clear.
We are happily looking forward to welcoming our newest addition in late October 2009!
